This module has been designed to give Red Earth staff key insights into the political environment surrounding Indigenous Australia, and how certain policies have shaped how remote Indigenous communities function and operate today.

As immersion facilitators you have a huge role to play in helping the participants explore and understand their experience with our Indigenous partners. Having a strong understanding of all of the topics mentioned in this module will help you explain and give historical context to accompany many of the stories that will be shared by the Traditional Owners.

This module includes the following lessons:

  • Government Policies and Landmark Decisions
  • Land Rights Movement
  • Current Movements
  • How Communities Operate
  • Quiz
